Frequently asked

Everything you need to know about BroodNote.

Is BroodNote really free to start? +
Yes — the Hobby tier is free forever for up to 10 hives. No credit card required, no trial expiry. You get full inspection tracking, the bloom map, NFC tags, and offline support at no cost.
Does it work without cell signal? +
Fully offline-first. You can do complete inspections, add hives, log treatments, and access all your data with zero connectivity. Everything syncs automatically when you're back online.
How many team members can I add? +
Unlimited team members on all paid plans. We price by hive count, not by seat — so adding more employees doesn't cost extra.
What is the Bloom Intelligence Map? +
A live nectar flow heat map covering all 50 states, tracking 237 plant species county by county. It shows what's blooming now, what's coming, and which areas have the strongest nectar flows — so you can time moves and predict harvests.
What devices does BroodNote run on? +
BroodNote is a Progressive Web App (PWA). It runs in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, iPad, or desktop. Install it from your browser — no app store required.
How does honey typing work? +
The Honey Typing Engine combines your yard's GPS location, bloom window data, and harvest date to estimate the floral composition of your honey. It tells you the percentage contribution of each nectar source and whether your batch qualifies as a premium monofloral.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan? +
Yes, anytime. Your data is always preserved when you change plans. If you downgrade below your current hive count, you'll keep read-only access to existing records while managing the overage.
Is there a 14-day trial on paid plans? +
Yes. All paid plans start with a 14-day free trial. No credit card required to start — email us when you're ready to upgrade and we'll get you set up.
